Google Search Console
Connect a Search Console property to add first-party search performance evidence.
The Search Console connection adds first-party clicks, impressions, click-through rate, and average position to the audited website context. Authorization grants Sight access only to properties available to the selected Google account, and the project should be matched to the intended domain or URL-prefix property.
Search Console data uses its own processing delays and definitions. Confirm the selected property and date window before comparing periods, and do not treat average position as a rank tracker. Disconnecting removes the stored project connection without changing permissions or data inside the Google account itself.
Property selection is especially important when an organization uses domain properties, URL-prefix properties, subdomains, or international directories. Two properties can expose different populations even when they appear to describe the same brand. Document the chosen property beside exported metrics, and recheck authorization when expected queries or pages are absent rather than assuming the site has no performance.

Start the connection
Open the project integration and continue to Google authorization.
Initiate authorization from the intended Sight project so the returned connection is stored against the correct site. Avoid beginning several parallel flows, which can make it unclear which callback or account completed the setup.

Grant access
Choose a Google account that can access the desired Search Console property.
Select an account that can see the required Search Console property and satisfies organizational security policy. Sight cannot query a property that Google does not expose to the authorized user.

Confirm the property
Sight selects the best hostname match. Switch to another available property when needed.
Check the property type and exact hostname after authorization. If automatic matching selects the wrong scope, switch before interpreting data and note the change in any existing reports or exports.

Review performance
Open Search opportunities to compare summary, query, and page performance with the audited site.
Confirm the summary totals, then inspect query and page rows with the selected date range. Missing data should trigger a property and authorization review before it is interpreted as no search demand.

Disconnect at any time
Disconnecting removes the stored project connection. It does not change the Search Console property or your Google account.
Before disconnecting, note the property and last successful sync if the team may reconnect later. Historical Sight evidence can remain while new Search Console refreshes stop.
